About

I’m a 59 yo computer engineer who likes to fiddle a bit (with a violin) and travel a lot.

As I get older I’m enjoying visiting the US armed with prior knowledge. For all it’s foibles, the US is a genuinely transparent society and an easy place to plan for and visit.

My previous visits were:

March/April 2017.

AMTRAK LA to NY with a 4 day detour to Marfa, Texas, 5 days stopover in New Orleans, 1 day in Chicago, 5 days 4 nights in DC, GWU precinct, 5 days on W Fayette and N Liberty, West Baltimore, and lastly 8 days in NYC. Of all of them, NYC won my heart.

December/January 2017/2018

Arrive in NYC 29th December direct from Sydney. 3 weeks in Chelsea with the best ever ZIP code 10001. NYE in Times Square, followed by a blizzard, NY Symphony, Tosca at the Met, Michelangelo at the Met Museum and a ball freezing trip to the Bronx Zoo.

Oh, I forgot: Short stay in LA, visited Hollywood etc. Lovely weather, a lot of homeless, but visit that one place you know; a stroll along the walk of fame, a pic of the Hollywood sign, Angel’s Flight, your choice, and you’ll be glad you came.
